Show GIATJQUE BENOMINATED S Brief and Harmonious Was the Second Sec-ond Precinct Meeting1 Arnold J Giauque was renomlnatcd by acclamation in the Second precinct last night to represent the precinct on the Board of Education The session was a brief and harmonious one It was held in the Sixth ward meetinghouse meeting-house and largely attended The meeting meet-ing was called to order by T C Lewis I after which Wiley Brown was elected J I chairman and E J Eardley secretary j J H Anderson moved that Arnold J I Giauque be renomlnated by acclama lion and this received several seconds It was a unanimous vote In favor of Mr Giauque The convention pledged Itself to work as unanimously for Mr Glauques election elec-tion as had been his nomination so that by a large vote his work would be shown to be appreciated Mr Giauque being called for said he had always favored higher education educa-tion and he stood for efllclency and In his opinion In five years the schools of Salt Lake would be the equal of any In the Union and that the West was steadily striding forward In educational matters as there was here more push and energy than In many sections of the East and In a short time the young people of the East would be sent to Western schools and colleges intend of the West sending Its children to Eastern East-ern colleges |
