Show RBBEBTSS PROXY PLEA His Attorney Says He is Not I Guilty I MUCH MARRIED MAN ABSENT i I The Charge oC Unlawful Cohabitation 11 Made Against Roberts was Denied Yesterday by James H Moyle inJustice in-Justice Kroegers Court in Behalf II I of His ClientBail Fixed at 5300 j which is Furnished by H M Din 1 woodoy and Georgo J Taylor Caso Now Goes to District Court i Congressmanrejected B II I Roberts through his attorney James H Moyle chairman of th < State Democratic com I mlllec pleaded not guilty lo the charge f I of unlawful cohabitation preferred by Charles Mnsiyn Owen last November and waiving examination was bound over to the District court It was announced that Roberta would be arraigned at 10 oclock yesterday but neither he nor his attorney appeared ap-peared until 2 oclock Shortly before that hour Sheriff Howclls entered Justice I Jus-tice Kroegers olllce and oat down after which he began conversing with Justice Kroegcr and Mr Owen who happened to be present A few mln utea later County Attorney Putnam came in and was followed almost Immediately Im-mediately by Mr Moyle I Mr Moyle with suppressed pride said HI will Just say in behalf of Mr I Roberts for whom I appear that we i desire to waive examination Mr Putnam said We presume thon that under the statute you plead not guilty x Mr Moylc replied Yes we plead not guilty Mr Putnam then addressing Justice Kroeger said I will stale that we have agreed upon a bond of 300 which Mr Moyle has there Mr Moylc handed the bond to Justice Krooger explaining that It was all right and the bond was accepted The sureties are H II Dlnwoodcy and George J Taylor After the bond had been examined and filed by Justice Kroeger the others withdrew and the suspense was over I |
