Show CREDIT MEN MEET ALL BELIEVE LOCAL ASSOCIATION ASSOCIA-TION SHOULD BE FORMED Another Meeting to be Held in n Week when Decision will be Mtxdo Addressed by Mr Preston In furtherance of the Idea of organizing organ-izing a local credit mens association which should become a branch of the National Credit Mens association a meetlncr of credit men was held at the KnutHford hotel last evening There was a very good attendance considering the limited notice that had been given Those present were L I Graham of Walker Bros S II Hill of Cunnlngton Co 15 W Duncan of the National Bank of the Republic P L Doran of the Symns Utah Grocer company G Ford of the ScottStre veIl Hardware company C Schmidt of Freed Furniture company Frank Knox of the National Bank of the Republic E Kahn and S Welt of Kahn Bros Mr Lambert of Lambeit Paper com pany Mr Delano of Buxrud Co Mr Anderson of Anderson Taylor Produce Pro-duce company James G McDonald of McDonald Candy company Mr Gun nell of Cosgriff t Enright Mr Forbes of Geo A Lowe Co Arthur Parsons of Z C M It G Anson of the F W Hanson Produce company The meeting was organized by the election of J I Graham a chairman and G Anson as secretary The chairman chair-man stated the object of the meeting was to take Into consideration l the ad < vlsablllty of organizing a local asso > elation of credit men and at his request re-quest W H Preston of Sioux City la a member of the board of directors of the national association addressed the meeting He reviewed the origin and progress of the association and showed to those present It I Is believed that much good would result In the formation forma-tion of a local association which would I not only affiliate with the national as sedation but also with the branches In the various States A long and Informal discussion fol lowed Mr Prestons address and when it had concluded there was not one present who was not In favor of an immediate organization I was level opeu however that a majority of those present had not come with authority liorlt to bind their houses to membership lf they saw fit to do so but rather to learn of the new movement and report observations and make suggestions As a result an adjournment was taken for one week During the Interim the the plans will be submitted and the action to be taken by the various business houses will be known The general belief among those pres ent was that an active wideawake < le association as-sociation of the nature proposed would be n great aid to the merchants of the city and the State There can be no doubt what the report of the credit men to their houses will be credt there is a man around a big mercantile house whose word goes mercante credit man |
