Show Symphony Recording Wins High Accolades One of the nation's leading magazines this week singled out the Utah Symphony's outstanding outstand-ing record of "The Nutcracker" ballet music this week for unrestrained un-restrained praise. Changing Times, a Kiplinger magazine, in its February, 1962, issue had this to report: "Tchaikovsky: 'Nutcracker', Utah Symphony, Maurice Abra-vanel Abra-vanel and University of Utah Chorus. Vanguard 123-4 (mono and stereo). "The newest release in Vanguard's Van-guard's notable 'Demonstration Disc' series is this two-record set offering a complete ballet score rather than the customary suite. Children love this music, but it is also adult in every sense, and to judge from the evidence of this bright recording, the people peo-ple of Salt Lake City have a first-rate orchestra of which they can be proud."
