Show Jaycees Schedule Awards Banquet President Richard Headlee of the Utah Jaycees this week announced an-nounced that the annual State Distinguished Service Awards Program and Outstanding Young Farmer Award will be held in conjuncton with the Winter Quarterly Conference of the Utah Jaycees Sunday. Feb. 18, at the University of Utah Union Building. The awards luncheon will be at 12:00 noon, at which time three young men in Utah between be-tween the ages of 21 and 35 will be presented Distinguished Service Serv-ice Awards and a young farmer between the ages of 21 and 35 will be presented the Outstanding Outstand-ing Young Farmer Award. President Presi-dent Headlee said that most Jay-cee Jay-cee chapters in Utah sponsor a local DSA program and in agricultural agri-cultural communities also sponsor spon-sor an OYF program. Nominees from these communities who have received the local award are the candidates for the state awards which are sponsored by the state organization. Headlee said the DSA program pro-gram has been conducted nationally na-tionally since 1938 with two major objectives; (1) to publicly honor young men between the ages of 21 and 36 for outstanding service to their communities, state and nation, and (2) to call attention to the vital ana important im-portant role of all young men in improving their communities. Thirty nominees have been received from the state for the Distinguished Service Awards. |
