J. Cowdel of the Bingham Radio "Shop, local Phllco dealer, this feature is one of the greatest radio improvements of the year. "Magnetic tuning", Mr. Cowdel says, "gives to radio set operation an accuracy and precision heretofore hereto-fore impossible. By means of spec- ial electrical circuits and apparatus, this feature works in a manner similar to that of a simple magnet so that when the owner tunes the set close to the frequency of any strong station, magnetic tuning goes into operation, putting the set on the exact frequency and holding hold-ing it there as long as the owner desires to listen." The result of this feature, Mr. Cowdel explains, is that off-frequency tuning is eliminated, making mak-ing distorted tone due to improper tuning an impossibility.
