| Show HOGAN MILL successful U L news elk city idaho the butte and orogrande Oro grande hogan property is paying 50 per cent clear of the values taken out of the ore the success being due to new arrangements in the mill by william hogan who has been in ch charge a r ae since the big property resumed operations two months ago under the new arrangement a different kind of distributor is in use which runs close to the tops of the leaching tanks it is not necessary to elevate the pulp the classifiers are below the plates mr H hogan ogan states there is a saving of 50 a day by not having to elevate the pulp the new distributor is one of mr hogans own manufacture A great saving also is made by leaching longer just before the mill was closed down two years ago the average daily run of the mill was tons from to tons are being run now thirty per cent of the values are being saved on the plates the mine and mill are now employing in the neighbor hood of twenty men but it is likely this number w willbe all increased greatly ZD within a short time now that athas it has been proven that the hogan can be made to pay there are none who will doubt there is a great future for the orogrande Oro grande district for there are mountains of the same kind of ore in the district as that in the hogan which is the same character of ore that has made the treadwell mine in alaska one of the biggest dividend paying gold mines in the world A number of these dykes are being developed but there is still a great number of good prospects that were not even located up to a short time ago because the ore being low grade prospectors thought it could not be made to pay so far from transportation the butte and orogrande Oro grande is preparing to operate extensively and there is a report here that the company is negotiating to buy other property near them |
