San Francisco, 12. The sale of the Pacific Wail property is accepted as a fact hy the best, informed parties, and cretues a profound sensation here. The property consiats ot Biiteen filty-vara filty-vara lots, equal to four city blocks, with a water frontage of 550 feet on First street, and 1,000 feet on Town-send Town-send Btreet, the main wharf, which is the finest on the coast; the Oriental warehouse, consisting of two substantial substan-tial brick buildings, built for warehouse ware-house purposes, and othe buiUings, a coal yard and railroad and hoisting works. The lets were secured by the Mail company at a low figure, and cost perhaps $100,000 to grado. An idea of their value may be inferred from the fact that in 1869 the company com-pany Bold some of the lota at $31,000 for inside and $50,000 for corner lots. That part of the town has greatly in-crensed in-crensed in commercial importance since, and the dock has acquired a fixed value. Well informed gentlemen gentle-men say the property was worth nearly $1,000,000, perhaps fully that, considering the franchises. The property pro-perty adjoins the Central Pacific rail road property on the Bouth. Haggin it Tevis, the purchasers, are in close connection with the Central Pacific company. It is rumored that the Mail company wishing to raise money, ueut here to ascertain what it could bo mortgaged for. Experts valued the property and aeut estimates east. Capitalists then put in a bid.
