Jacob Strong, a wvll known pioneer, who came to this city in 1840, after having been with the Mormons iu their troubles in Nauvoo, Council Ulufls and Winter Quarters, quietly passed away, with dd age, at ids residence in the MGth ward, of this city, on Sunday j morning, tho 13th inst., surrounded by an affectionate family, and with a j large number of friends and acquaint- a rices. Elder Strong was 7- years, -1 months and 10 days old. List fall he garnered over luO bushels of wheat of his own 'planting; and his life has been as full of hard realities as it has of kind deeds, I which many of the pioneer Mormons 'will remember.
