Show Theatre. "Helping Hands" gave very general satisfaction last night, being be-ing received with hearty demonstrations demonstra-tions of approval. Although in an entirely en-tirely different role to anything heretofore hereto-fore attempted here, being broken English with German accent, Mr. Couldock's rendition of Lorentz Hart-mann Hart-mann was full of the true dramatic metal. Miss Couldock as the daughter daugh-ter showed the genuine woman in her rendition of Margaret Hartmann, and as usual was correct and lady-like in her personation. Mr. Margetts as Wolf had a part somewhat out of his usual line; which he rendered accceptably. As William Piufus Mr. Graham had a part just to his liking and created considerable mirth. The other ladies and gentlemen gave good support The piece will be repeated this evening, and will doubtless be even better rendered than last night, as the actors will be more at home with the situations and better up in th& text, which in this class of pieces is very necessary. The performance will conclude con-clude with the farce of "Taraxicum Twitters." |
