Show Caution. There was an advertisement advertise-ment published in the Herald some days ago, notifying persons having no right to the waters of the 20th Ward north bench water-ditch to desist from taking water therefrom, under penally of being prosecuted. Yesterday two gentlemen, whose names we withhold for the present, were brought before Alderman Clinton, charged with taking tak-ing water from this ditch without leave or license. The case was set for hearing for Friday next. When the matter is investigated we will give fur-1 fur-1 ther particulars. In the mean time, ' people had better restrain from taking ' what they have no right to, even if it is water. |
