l SHEWING GUM TAXI 1 TAX-I Retail Dealers Must Stamp Their I Stocks Today I Washington June 29The internal revenue rev-enue bureau has Issued a circular In regard re-gard to the stamp tax on chewing gum I I It is held that prior to July 1 retail deal i ers will be required to affix a 4cent revenue rev-enue stamp to each package containing chewing gum of the value of 1 or less It is expected therefore that retail deal qrs will pack small parcels or broken packages on hand prior to that date and stamp the same and all sales must be made from packages so stamped The small packages selling from 1 to 10 cents each aro not required to be individually stamped It is expected that owners of street vending machines will have emptied emp-tied them of their contents and on July 1 will refill the same from packages upon winch the tax has been paid Onand after af-ter July 1 the manufacturer and not the retailer of chewing gum will I be required lta lrg i rgt nay the iw affixing the stamps to the paCcages before being shipped from the factory I
