night as a testimonial for Mr John T Axton the secretary during the past five years who leaves Sunday night for Winona Ind to attend the national secretaries convention The affair was given under conventon afair wa gven I the auspices of the ladies auxiliary Y I M C A Riles and board of directors the committees on arrangements and reception being a follows Auxiliary Mrs Hudson Smith Miss Dr Tibbals An orchestra of which I Karl Zehnter is leader rendered the opening selection followed with a solo I Time and Tide by Mr J A Graham j j with Mr Zehnter n accompanist I Mrs John Feed gave a laughable I recitation in negro dialect entitled Charley and the Possum and a piano duet was given by Misses Margaret and Mal Robertson Miss June Ma this a little girl captured the audience with the recitation A Jealous Wife i rendered with surprising intensity and maturity of expression As an encore Miss June gave GoodBye God Bless Your E J Jolly sang very sweetly When I Was a Child of Three and for an encore responded with Two Marionettes Miss Lennie Rutt gave 1 the pathetic recitation Conner The I pathetc rcitton next number was a piano solo by Miss I I Lola Cochler Mr Karl Scheid sang I i Toreador Hole The programme was closed with a short address by Dr E V Silver who gave expression to his wish to do honor to Secretary John T Axton for his faithfulness in the work and wishing I him a
