Show CONGRfSSMAN W H KING WILL ABBTVE I SAT LAKE MONDAY EVENING Accepts Invitation to Lecture On Cuba For the Benefit of the Mutual Improvement League Will Leave For Washington Wednesday A telegram received by Hon Heber J Grant last evening from Congressman Congress-man King in Washington states that he left for home yesterday afternoon and will arrive here Monday evening Some weeks ago Mr Grant wrote Mr King inviting him to be present In Salt Lake during the Mutual Improvement conference which opens tomorrow and to deliver a lecture on Cuba for the benefit of the Mutual Improvement I league No answer was returned and Mr Grant concluded that Mr King was unable to attend A dispatch received last evening states that Mr Grants I letter had been delayed but that Mr King would start at once for home to comply with the invitation Everyone who has read of Mr Kings visit to Cuba just before war was declared and of the thrilling scenes he witnessed there will desire to hear the interesting I recital from his own lips The lecture will be held In the tabernacle on Wednesday Wed-nesday evening next and the price of I admission wU be fixed at 25 cents to all parts of the house All the proceeds I will go to the benefit of the Mutual Improvement league and Mr Grant and the local committee feel confident I that the event will be of such interest I that that deserving institution which f gI I is now carrying a large debt on its shoulders will b substantially aided I by Mr Kings lecturer I lecture-r King will return to Washington on Wednesday |
