has passed In recent years I The order was not prepared for those adverse conditions and severe as the trial was anci is it will not be without compensatory influences in-fluences In the future With ever Increasing strength it will go forward carrying with it the harsh experiences of dark and gloomy hours It is unnecessary to enlarge upon what ought to be done to secureI would say Odd Felowshlp and especially the I I older members of the 6rder against the hardship nd reverses of fortune that may come to him after he has given his best years of mankind to the order and in season and out of season sought to promote its welfare not only for himself but that great brotherhood I that like the waves of the ocean is continually enlarging its circles It is only a question of time until all mankind man-kind is united with one great brotherhood I brother-hood classified welded and bound to getner TUB Brotherhood of mankind exists now but in a loose disjointed condition but this will not be the brotherhood of the futurenay the lessons that we are receiving have come to us as lessons of wisdom to teach us to build wisely for the future Some of the severest lessons we receive in life come to or arc sent to fortify and strengthen us against the Impending Impend-ing evils that best our pathway as we journey along the highway that leads to the future Every Odd Fellow Is I wiser that he was 12 months ago He now c es through the imperfections of the legislation of the past and its entire en-tire unfitness for the present and future Mrnkind united in the bonds of union tinder wise legislation and I capable leadership can be protected through mankind and old age in a I state of security against the ills of life that beset him throughout his I journey here Now the lesson of today comes to us in a form in which I has never come before Every dollar paid into the association should be carefully invested and under the most rigid rule of economy and the work of the various lodges should be so conducted that the man not belonging to the order would be the exception to the prevailing rule This Is a glorious prospective but I is within the range of possibility Every Ev-ery true man and citizen will deem i a privilege as well as duty to belong be-long to our order and advance with us along the Lnes of universal brotherhood brother-hood I < < < S > f LOCAL LODGES Mystic No 22
