Show r THE GENERAL CONNOR A Ditch Being Made Prom Fish Creek to the Mine Richfield Aug LW F Mitchell of Salt Lake City inventor of the Mitchell ilfrnmator who is working some of his machines In Gold Mountain was in this city yesterday and today for more provisions pro-visions and supplies Mr Mitchell has a contract from E P Lynch of San Francisco Fran-cisco for the building of a ditch from the csco head of Fish creek to the General Connor mini a group of patented claims belonging belong-ing to Mr Lynch joining the Sevier on the south Five men are at work on the ditch which Is almost half completed being now something over one and one half miles long etn Mitchell is having some trouble in obtaining the water I Feems I that last l year Charles Voigt the owner of thr springs where tno water is nbtnined and whcse name they now have leased the water to a outfit from Kanosh who wore using i or hydraulic purposes The lease only called for the use of the water for three weeks and when their time lor tme was up they paid the owner what he I asked and hen l r that part of the district l dis-trict When this work was started they r protested and tried to hold the water but were not able to make the contractor abandon the work Charles Lammersdorf manager of the Sevier mine is also working on a ditch to bring the water from Tils springs to the mill a distance of over two miles For a distance of more than a mile the ditches run parallel not over 15 feet apart This is really the first substantial work I that has been ddne on the mountain this summer looking forward to a mill on the F General Connor and everyone is anxiously awaiting the completion of the work tot to-t see the next step that will be taken |
