Show THE BONNEVILLE PROJECT Contract With the State Will Be Signed Saturday I will probably be Saturday morning before the contract between the state land board and the Lake Bonneville Water and Power company is formally signed although all the remaining points in controversy were adjusted yesterday At yesterdays session the board agreed to the companys proposition proposi-tion to allow the reservation of a strip 50 feet in width on each side of the main canals and 20 feet wide along branch ditches for right of way purposes pur-poses As to the matter of permitting settlers set-tlers on the arid tracts in Juab and Millard counties proposed to be reclaimed re-claimed by the Lake Bonnevilles irrigation gation system to make partial payments pay-ments upon their permanent water right purchases i was decided that under the law the subject belongs properly prop-erly to the company and the settlers to agree upon and therefore the board had no authority to require a stipulation stipula-tion in the contract making parthl payments allowable Settlers will therefore be obliged to pay down the full cost of permanent rights to water supplied by the company or let whatever what-ever balance remains stand for 20 remans years at 7 per cent annual interest or agree to such other equitable terms as the company may to mutual advantage make a part of its contract with settlers set-tlers After these two controversies were ended the board placed the contract subject in the hands of two committees one to check and revise the document in accordance with the detailed terms agreed upon and the other to inquire into the feasibility of the engineering propositions The committees will report tomorrow morning and if everything is found satisfactory the contract between the state and the Lake Bonneville company will be formally executed |
