Show BACX FROM LION HILLY HILL-Y W S Irvine Pleased With What He Saw In the Chloride Point Hon W H Irvine and exSheriff I William McQueen returned Wednesday night from a visit to Lion hill where they made an examination of the Chloride Point mine and also of the Hercules adjoining When seen yesterday by a representative represen-tative of The Herald Mr Irvine stated that they had made a thorough and careful examination of the Chloride Point under the guidance of Superintendent Superin-tendent Clark and that the property was a surprise to them as well as to J every one who has had the good fortune for-tune to visit this prospective bonanza After going into the mine for 200 fed said Mr Irvine there is ore everywhere and in one place Mr Clark showed up a body of milling ore which had been blocked out which exhibited a face 60 feet wide 12 feet thick and I 400 feet in length This is a mammoth body of ore and through it there are I zones of highgrade ore running from I 100 to 400 ounces in silver to the ton besides some gold while shipping ore is piled up in the workings of the mine I I to such an extent that the miners are handicapped for working room I Mr Irvine also went through the new mill building which is now ready for i the machinery and he states that it I is a model of convenience and up to I J date in every respect In fact he was well pleased with conditions both at I the mine and mill and predicts a I great future for the enterprise ATI inspection was also made of the I licrcules in which Mr Irvine is interested inter-ested and he is well satisfied with the progress being made in its development as the working tunnel is now in a distance dis-tance of 360 feet the formation at the face being lime stainedwith iron the whole being well mineralized Mr Irvine brought home with him some samples of native silver from the Chloride Point and he states that there is enough secondgrade ore in sight in the mine to keep the mill in operation for a year |
