| Show WILL FIGHT THE LAW Miners of Pak Cit Oppose the Transfer of Records Park City Slay 4A meeting of claim owners of Uintah Snake Creek and Blue Ledge mining districts was held in the city hal tonight to consider con-sider fat portion of the new mining law which requires that the books of the district mining recorder be transferred trans-ferred to the county recorders John Gligge called the meeting to order Charles H Getch was elected president presi-dent and A Fluellins secretary A motion mo-tion was massed that the books be retained re-tained by the district recorders and that steps be taken similar to those adopted in Tiivtic It was resolved as the wish of the meeting that a state convention of miners be called each district sending a representative to consider the new law and make a test case if neces < arr A committee of three was appointed consisting of claim owners from the three mining districts represented at the meeting to collect funds to fight the law The committee is composed of Tim Driscoll of Uintah John Geiger of Blue Ledge and Ed Berry of Snake Creek The committee was instructed to correspond with the district mining recorders throughout the state Tim Driscoll is recorder for Uintah district and John Geiger for Snake Creek and Blue Ledge CONSTELLATION MINING CO The Constellation Mining company held its annual meeting last night An assessment of 1 cents per share on the capital stock of the company was levied The officers will remain the same for the ensuing year except C H Ballantyne who is succeeded on the board by Israel Barlow The members of the board and officers are as follows fol-lows AV T Lyman president W H West vice president and general manager man-ager Henry Button secretarr and treasurer E P Le Ccmpte T L Ly man and E T Palmer directors A pump with a capacity of 100 gal Ions per minute is now being placed in the shaft and the pump will begin to work on Wednesday The main shaft is nearly 200 feet deep From the bottom of the shaft adrift a-drift has been run southeast which cut a 25foot vein having a southwesterly southwest-erly strike The vein carries values in gold and silver and will be developed in both directions The company expects ex-pects to deepen the shaft as soon as the water is under control |
