Show BELIEF FOR INDIA I J A committee composed of the followIng follow-Ing wellknbwn Chicagoans Hon C C Bonney president of the Worlds ParlIament Par-lIament of Religions Hon A N Waterman Wa-terman judge of the Illinois appellate court Hon E B Sherman master In chancery of United States circuit court Mr E G Keith president of the Metropolitan Metro-politan National bank Mr George F Stone secretary and Mr R S Lyon I second vicepresident of the Chicago board of trade has consented to act with Virchaud R GaudhI Esq secretary secre-tary of the committee for the relief of the starving people of India in caring for and receiving contributions of corn or other grain or money contributions for the benefit of the starving Indians No pictures no statistics can convey an adequate idea of the suffering among the people of India It Is said that eighty millions of them are now I starving that Is ten millions more than the entire population of this I country Many of these are dying all are suffering The English government has confessed its inability to furnish the relief that is needed immediately An appeal has been made to America for aid let it not be made in vain Until there is another harvest many of the people of India must be furnished fur-nished food and this must come from charity Cannot some organized effort be made here in Utah to aid India Utah has ever responded generously to such appeals as this in the past Let her do so now Contributions of corn or other grain may be consigned to the firm of F G I Logan board of trade Chicago and i i money contributions in checks payable to Mr E G Keith president Metropolitan i Metro-politan National bank Chicago who I will account to the above committee for all receipts I |
