larger business the range for the day being 2 The early tone was firm July which on Friday closed 57 started at from 58 to 58 but after a short struggle the bears got complete control and the price went from bad to worse all forenoon July getting as low as 56s or 1 cent below the close of Friday and the same a the lowest price at which the May delivery sold in midwinter mid-winter The steadiness early was attributable at-tributable to the rains in the south and southwest decreased stocks at Liverpool and advices from France regarding re-garding the outlook there former estimates es-timates being lowered on account of drought Under the Indulgence of this news there was fair buying by local traders for awhile but offerings increased many coming from the outside and prices sold off quickly The break at Minneapolis small decreased visible and the prediction of rising temperature tempera-ture and clear weather for the west cear and northwest had a good deal to do with the weakness When the esti mate of the Orange Judd Farmer of a crop of 320000000 bushels winter and 180000000 bushels spring wheat came in the weakness was Increased the vicious selling finally carrying the price off 2 from the top point Prices continued weak to the close of the session and though there was some recovery re-covery from the low point the feeling was decidedly weak and nervous July closing at 56 Corn naturally declined in sympathy with the extreme depression in wheat closing at a slight loss A good business busi-ness was transacted Oats were influenced by the same conditions as corn and the close conditons showed a similar result Provisions were active but at a considerable con-siderable reduction in prices This was caused by the enormous run of hogs and though fair support was given giv-en for a time the closing feeling was weak wa CHICAGO GENERAL MARKETS The leading futures ranged as follows WHEATNO 2 I Open Hh tow I Clul6 June i574 157 15 15 July 55 58 56 56 Sept 58o5 J581A 56Y 567
