Show DEEP CREEK GOLD Destined to Develop Into the Greatest Great-est Camp in the West J B Swenson of this city the well known metallurgist and assayer returned re-turned Saturday from a ten weeks sojourn so-journ in the Deep Creek country where h made a careful and critical examination of the formations in Clifton Clif-ton and Willow Springs mining districts dis-tricts and with such success that he discovered and located a ledge that shows free gold in astonishing quantity quan-tity This claim which he has named the Viking is located in Clifton district The formation is a contact with lime formaton lme hanging and granite footwall the ore body being thirty inches thick six inches of which shows mineral that is lousy with free gold and that goes a high as 4500 in the yellow metal to the ton Mr Swenson also secured a bond on the Widow lode in Clifton district The Widow shows a ledge from six to twelve feet in width which is a sill cious spar carrying sylvanite ore that goes in value from 8 to 40 in gold to the ton and five ounces silver Both propositions are free milling and it is the intention to push development devel-opment work upon them this summer and later on to erect a mill for the treatment of the ore from these mines S B Westerfield is interested with Mr Swenson in these two locations and these gentlemen feel that they are on the highway to opulence and wealth Mr Swenson speaks very highly of the Deep Creek country and says that in his estimation this region will rival I Cripple Creek in its gold deposits and I I eventually become the greatest mining district of the west |
