Show I WAS PUISUNEODCClIJENT GEORGE GAL3RAITES SUDDEN DEMISE AT HOOPER Believed to Eave Taken Carbolic Acid In Mistake For Laudanum Through Error of Druggist By Telephone to The Herald Ogden Jan 8 George Galbraith an aged gentleman died very suddenly yesterday yes-terday morning in Hooper as a result of accidental poisoning He resides In California but came to Utah last summer to attend the funeral of his sister Mrs Blood in Kaysvllle and since that time he has been in very feeble health living at Hooper with another an-other sister Mrs Henry Manning It has been his custom to take small quantities of laudanum regularly Saturday Satur-day night he got his bottle filled In Ogden and Sunday morning ho took about the usual quantity from tho bottle He at once called downstairs asking what had been in the Clipper with which he took the drug He was taken ill suddenly and died within twenty minutes before medical med-ical aid could be summoned Joe Manning a nephew of the deceased was in Ogden yesterday and stated that there was eason to believe that the laudanum bottle had been filled with carbolic car-bolic acid at the drug store by mistake The bottle was filled at the pharmacy of L J Kynett as usual Tho drug store people it is understood SCOUt the idea of their having made a mistake The deceased was about 66 years of age and has relatives in Weber Davis and Salt Lake counties besides eight children in I California Funeraljiarrangghiflnts are pontirng answer to a telegram sent to I California |
