Show STRIKE IN KANSAS CITY Machinists and Butchers Employed by Armour Strike against Lower Wages KANSAS CITY Aug 21 Fortyfive owned machinists in the packing house by Armour Company all the 165 butchers employed by Swift Company and all but 6 butchers in the employ of Swartz Child and Tulseberger who will close work when they have killed the cattle for export on hand are on strike against a reduction of 10 per cent in wages which took effect today The order affects tho machinists rob only in Armours plant but is directed against all men employed by the other two companies com-panies I is probably that more of the machinists in Armours will join the strikers in a day or two and the ranks of the strikers employed by the other two companies com-panies will probably also be augmented The reduction in wages was applied not only to the local plants of the different companies but to all of their properties in different cities |
