left Monday afternoon for Mineral Point Colorado to assist B G Greymore in the construction of a leaching plant at that point Mr Hend ricks will have charge of the work of placing the batteries and furnaces He expects to be gone about four months One set of the boilers at the Marsac mill I sprung leak this week and considerable trouble has been experienced in operating operat-ing the plant with the remaining set owing ow-ing to the fact that the vats in the leacher consumes more steam than does the large engine that drives the machinery The mill was closed down few hours today to make some slight repaires on one of the engines There has been much talk on the streets this week to tho effect that the Silver King would start up in C few days The writerinterviewed Superintendent Kearns in reference to the matter and was told that no decision had yet been reached That Mr Keith was expected home today to-day and as soon a he arrived the matter would be decided As soon as we can get cash for our ore said Mr Kearns a small force will be put to work The smelters however want thirty days time on all consignments and on those terms the King will not ship ore I Mr Keith does not come home today Mr Kearns will join him in Salt Lake city and they will try and make terms with the smelter and the railroad company and i matters can be arranged satisfactorily the mine will start up with a small force The BullionBeck Superintendent Burch of the Beck now has about 100 men on the payroll Last Saturday they were all paid for July and tomorrow is announced as August payday A small quantity of ore was partially treated in the recent run at the Tintic mills which are being operated by the company A new leaching process will be tested a soon as the leachers arrive ar-rive from Salt Lake I is said to be superior to the process now in use there and i successful will be adopted Tintic Miner The Cullen Mining Company The Cullen Mining Company which owns property and operates in Grass creek is planning on doing a big business this winter says the Coalville Chronicle J H Spriggs has been at work opening up the mine and now they intend to put in two digging machines which will dig 100 tons of coal per day and begin supplying sup-plying the trade and shipping to Salt Lake There is some talk ol the rails being be-ing laid up Grass creek this winter but it is not yet determined The company which owns the Cullen mine is composed mostly of wealthy men residing in Salt Lake and i they take hold of it in earnest something will be done They already have a demand for all the coal they can get out Prospecting Sjear Coalville A party of prospectors in whose work J A and W F Smith are interested have been prospecting of late in the section sec-tion of country called Hard Scrabble situated across the range northwest of Henefer Some time ago a streak of ore was found running in gold and copper This was followed in until now they have followed it twenty feet Last Sunday the Smith brothers took a trip over and I drought back some of the ore taken from that depth Its appearance would indicate indi-cate rich ore and some of it has been sent t the assayer Coalville Chronicle At Mammoth with some silver and lead This week the Emma mine Fish Springs district shipped from this station sta-tion one carload of ore for the Salt Lake smelters The Utah mine from the same camp also made a shipment of two carloads car-loads of high grade OTQ Millard County Blade The coal shipments from Rock Springs for August were Union Pacific Coal company 4112 Rock Springs 204 Sweetwater 374 Vandyke
