composed of county superintendents superin-tendents of district schools the superintendents superinten-dents of city schools in cities of the second class the president of tho faculty of the university uni-versity of Utah and the commissioner of sohools for Utah territory is called to meet at tho university building of the University of Utab in Salt Lake city Utah on the 27th day of Juno AD 1892 at the hour of2 oclock pm of that daj for the purpose of deciding what text books shall be adopted in the district schools of the territory except In cities of the first class The subjects upon which text books shall be adopted aro Reading writing spelling language lan-guage lessons English Grammar geography United States history arithmetic physiology and hygiene with special reference to nature and effects of alcoholic drinks and other stimulants stimu-lants and narcotics upon the human system civil government physical geography general science elements of natural philosophy elementary ele-mentary algebra bookkeeping drawing and music Sealed proposals for furnishing such books will bo received by the undersigned commissioner commis-sioner of schools at any time prior to the hour of meeting of said convention on aforesaid day all proposals must be accompanied by sample copies of the books proposed to be furnished together with a statement of the introductory and exchange price and of the wholesale and retail prices at which the publisher agrees to furnish each cook within this territory during the full time for which said books may be adopted The convention reserves the right to reject any and all proposals At the time aforesaid namely 2 oclock pm of the S7th day of June 1S91 the convention will meet and publicly open and read oil the proposals which shall havo been received and shall within thirty duys thereafter make their awards thereon and the publisher or publishers publish-ers whoso proposals shall bo accepted will be required to enter into a written contract with the commissioner of schools and to give bond with two sufficient sureties in I sum to be fed by the convention for the faithful performance of such contract contractJACOB JACOB
