| Show MINING MELANGE An Option Given on the Dodd Gold Group Mr Brims Jllnine Operations Mineral Paint FindThe Mountain lake and Other Mines The ownersof Dodds gold mining group Cherry Creek White Pine county Nevada yesterday closed a two year option on this promising gold proposition to James Parks of New York city The owners of this group orG Joe Brim Edward Mason and J B Taylor of this city though Brims residence has been in Duck Creek for the last two years I Mr Brim is an extensive prospector and miner and owns claims in every mining district in Deep Creek except Dugway His largest holdings are in Duck Creek where he has staked out fourteen claims It was in this camp that the big strike was made last May when the biggest lead proposition ever discovered in Sagebrush state was exposed This is known as the Bonanza mine and is located thirteen miles south of Eli the county seat of White Pine county The ore runs from Go to 83 per cent lead and from 4 to 36 ounces In silver The body of ore exposed ex-posed is 41 feet wide and 120 feet long A cut of 6x7 feet and 16 feet long has been made in a solid body of galena The Grace mine adjoins the Bonanza and is owned by W L Dooly a brother of J E Dooly of this city and a Mr Anderson Their claims aro the Hope and S3 Per Cent They are working nine men They started with one foot of ore and at fortyfive feet the vein widened out to four feet They have thirtysix tons of ore sacked ready for shipment A Mineral Paint Find I About seventeen miles from Salt Lake city E Malquist and Joseph Pitts Si Co have discovered a big ledge of mineral paint of different colors yellow ochre dark brown and red of an oily nature which flows in abundance from different springs with the water with a magnificent water power through the same ground It has been examined ex-amined by loading painters who say its value Is remarkable for oil painting and water colors It is also clone to the railroad rail-road and handy for market The Mountain Lake Robert Brighton who is one of the most indefatigable miners in the Brighton district dis-trict was in the city yesterday He is now pushing a tunnel into the Mountain Lake a promising prospect near Lake Mary the famous scenic spot much frequented fre-quented by summer tourists Mr Brighton Brigh-ton since he began operations this winter has extended the tunnel 100 feet into the mountain and has encountered some fine specimens of ore He is keeping two shifts of hands at work Work on the Blair The latest from the Blair mine In Iron county Is to the effect that they now have a six foot vein of 30 with a rich streak of 100 ore on the foot wall They have several sev-eral hundred tons of second class ore on the dump and are sacking the rich ore for shipment There are two shifts now at iwo i-wo k and on the 10th of the month three I shifts will be put on and the sinking on I the shafts vigorously pushed Supplies I have been shipped for the winter and Mr J M Blair will leave this city for the mine the first of tho week The Morgan Company Sued John Wall and Ole H Peterson brought suit in the Third district court yesterday against the Morgan Mining and Smelting company The plaintiffs alleged that they sold certain valuable mining property in Alder Creek district of Idaho to the defendants de-fendants and that they were to receive a per cent of the proceeds of stock to be sold which amounted to 5000 They allege al-lege that the stock was sold but that their portion was not forthcoming Hence they demand a judgment for 5000 with four years interest amounting in all to 57000 George W Moyer Is the attorney for tho plaintiffs |
