Show GRAHAM GETS AWAY Half a Dozen People Failed to Hold Him Coons Condition Does Not Give the Doctors Any Encourage entIt Is a ierlotis Case Graham the brutal assailant ol Joseph Coon the young ranchman IB still at large After being taken into custody at Garden City by half a dozen citizens of that place the sheriff was telephoned that he was in custody and would be held until that official arrived Graham was present when all this telephoning was done and although technically in custody he had the freedom of the little storeroom in which ho had been taken No attempt was mado to search or disarm Graham and he was still in possession of the fatal knife which he had used with such savage effect upon Coon I Suddenly and without the least warning ho drew his knife from his pocket and flourishing it before him sprang toward the door Get away 1 Dont try tostopme 1 he cried and the half dozen or more men parted before him like frightened sheep before be-fore a savage wolf Reaching the door h3 brushed aside one of the men who made a half hearted attempt at-tempt to stop him and throwing it open sprang into the open air Once into the night he disappeared as if swallowed by the earth and although a posse nt once btarted in pursuit not the slightest trace was gotten of his whereabouts where-abouts Sheriff Burt joined in the chase at 3 oclock yesterday morning and was in tho saddle continuously all day yesterday and last night without obtaining any information infor-mation that was of value to him No adequate or good description of Murray Mur-ray can be obtained but a dozen men who know him are in tim different search parties par-ties and if run onto he will not get away as the courage of the searchers is of grittier grit-tier material than that possessed by tho men who had him under guard Coon the victim of Grahams knife rested as easy as could be expected yester day but no reaction set in after the bock and consequently his condition did not give his doctors any encouragement |
