Show THE GOLDSMITH FAILURE Indicaioas That an Agreement Will Soon Be Reached The indications are that within ten days the house of Goldsmith Co will resume business with an assignee at the helm For several days the members of the company have been holding meetings with the creditors for the purpose of arriving at some understanding un-derstanding or agreement in order that the attachments might be released and the assignee allowed to step in and commence the sale of the stock in order or-der that the loss might be as light as I possible A forced sale would result in heavy losses to the company and I probably result in the creditors receivIng re-ceiving amounts much less than those represented by their claims While no formal agreement has been entered into it Is more that likely that Upon his return to Baltimore Mr Ring one of the heaviest creditors will meet with the other eastern creditors of the house and allow the attachments tachments under un-der which the Salt Lake and Ogden branches are now in the possession of a United States marshal to be withdrawn with-drawn in which case Assignee Han auer will step in and resume business Mr Ring left last night for Ogden where he will spend a > day or two in looking over the situation there and then proceed on to Bulte and Spokane at which places he Will inspect the branch houses of the firm returning to Baltimore within a week Mr Goldsmith left the city for the easton east-on Friday |
