before the Lenten season The reception by Mr and Mrs lfcC rnick Miss Crawfords reception Miss Sadlers high five Mrs Baches high five and a number of smaller parties made the week gayer than any preceeding one of the winter This week will be a very quiet one will be I compared with the last Lent pretty generally observed although many of the clubs will continue to meet i I A very elegant affair was the reception i recep-tion given at the McCornick mansion on Thursday evening Mr and Mrs McCornick Miss Keogh and Miss Mc Cornick received the guests who afterwards after-wards sought friends and acquaintances in the parlors the library or the sitting sit-ting room In the breakfast room and 1 dining room refreshments were served p bv Misses Hoge Alff Park Lowe and others Little Miss Anna McCornick guided the guests to the dressing rooms The rooms always j elegant were made especially attractive by great clusters of roses of every variety which adorned ea Ch of them An
