Show UP CITY CREEK An Ins le ton of the Work lieing Done There by the City Mayor Armstrong Supervisor Living Watermaster Chief stoic Wilcken and Ottingcr visited City Creek caiion yesterday yester-day morning to inspect the work now going on in that vicinity under the direction I of the city On arriving at the scene of improvement it was found that one tunnel eight miles up the cafion had been pushed to a depth of thirty feet while the other at North Fork is forty feet long and work is still being continued A third has just been commenced and will be proceeded with as rapidly as possible These tunnels are being blasted through solid i rock crosswise I fi ktoCr Jg fi of the fissures rfhl idea being to consolidate consoli-date the small Reaps which are forced I through the seams but in so small quanti ties that the evaporation and waste consume con-sume nearly the entire amount before tle entre reaching the main channel In size the openings are from six to seven feet in heighth and about four feet In width The results obtained so farare reported by the inspecting party as being very satisfactory the springs opened adding very materially to the water supply of City creek The regular flow is still being held at the uniform uni-form rate of 4000000 gallons per day |
