the county government bill i Request granted and Messrs Woolley Howe and Suioot appointed on the pat to the Council The amendment was in regard to the caring for transen I paupers idiots etc The House insisted on retaining the text so that counties would be compelled to care for tran iient i paupers idiots etc In the conference con-ference committee the language of the house was retained in all its Amendmonts concurred in H F No 35 a bill in relation to doors and fire escapes in public buildings came back from the House amended The amendments were concurred inC in-C F No 38 amending an act defining the boundaries of counties and locating locat-ing county seats came back from the House without amendnent Ordered enrolled and forwarded to the Governor A BILL KILLED The House adheres to its moved that th vote by which the enacting clause of H F 4G providing for a law library was stricken out be reconsidered MR FARNSWORTH moved that the motion mo-tion to reconsider be laid on tho table Lost ME RICHARDS spoke in favor of a reconsideration re-consideration He thought perhaps that the bill was a misnomer It should be a bill for the relief of the public MR CLARK saw no re son why attorneys attor-neys should not provide their own law books He was opposed tj a reconsideration reconsid-eration MB HOGE stated that the Territory owned broken sets of books whit b could be completed at small expense they were now almost worthless Members Mem-bers of the bar J in Salt Lake City had 75 000 invested in law books An appropriation ap-propriation of 5000 was 83ied for to establish a public library not for the II I benefit of attorneys but to relieve them from furnishing what the Territory Terri-tory should provide fIt MOYLE spoke in favor of a reconsideration recon-sideration MB HATCH was in favor of a reconsideration recon-sideration but at the same time thought it might be welt to provide the building to be erected on Washington Square with plows and harvesting machinery for the benefit of farmers who by the way were about the only honest men He moved that if any lawyer was absent ab-sent from the House the sargeantat arms be instructed to bring him in before be-fore the vote was taken The motion to reconsider was lost AMENDMENTS CONCURRED IN The House concurred in Council amendments to H F7 substitute providing pro-viding for a Territorial board of equalization
