Show Two Republicans Vic For Lenislativo Seat BOUNTIFUL - The names of two Bountiful Republicans will be submitted to Governor Scott Matheson to determine who will be appointed to fill the legislative position left open when Douglas Sonntag was appointed to the Utah State Tax Commission. ROBERT Garff, 551 East 3100 South, Bountiful and Doris Wilson, 2224 Ridgewood Way, were named by district voting chairman and vice chairman from Legislative District 57 as nominees for the post in the Utah House of Representatives. According to Hazel Gait, county Republican vice chairman, those names will be sent to the Governor today. but the district has not received an indication when Governor Matheson will make his decision. THE appointee will fill Rep. Sonntagg's unexpired term ending December 1978. Both nominees have said they will run for re-election in November if they are named. Mrs. Gait said. Since only two persons were nominated at the political meeting held on Wednesday, the nominees were elected by acclamation. BOTH nominees have been long-time active Republicans. Mr. Garff holds a county area position in the Republican Party. Mrs. Wilson is vice chairman of the state Republican Party, rk |
