In the past five years Clara has put in 1,188 hours of service at the VA Hospital, as well as being a volunteer in other organizations in the community. Every Saturday Barber and another volunteer take a group of disabled patients on a fishing trip. Most of these are wheel-chapatients who would otherwise not be able to get out into the outside world. Some are without legs, others are minus an arm, but while they are with Barber they borrow his skills to catch fish in the Red Butte Reservoir. Barber explained that the state fish and game plant fish in the reservoir the night before the weekly outing, and he and whoever he can talk into going with him bait the hooks. But the disabled vets are the ones who make the days catch, and one man caught over 26 fish last week. The fish are then taken back to the VA Hospital where the cooks cook a fish dinner for the rest of the pa Are !ia,ng Hold Meeting . . .
