Show WASHINGTON Mrs. Caddie Neilson i Reporter A party under the direction of the bishopric with the heads of the different organizations assisting assist-ing was given Wednesday evening in honor of the out-going bishopric. bish-opric. The evening was spent in dancing and a program. Each of the out-going officers was presented pre-sented with a token of remembrance. remem-brance. A Citizen's primary was held here last Thursday night and the following were elected as candidates candi-dates to fill the city's offices: Israel Neilson Jr., mayor; W. O. Nisson, treasurer; Glen Tobler, recorder; Edward F. Nisson, 4-year councilman; Victor Iverson, Bert Dewey and Wallace Iverson, 2-year councilmen. Mrs. Woodrow Staheli and son, George, have returned home from a business trip to Salt Lake City. Vere Hafen has returned to his i military post in California after a three-day's pass to see his mother, Mrs. Frank Hafen and brother, DarreL 1 Andrew Jolley and son, Lewis, I of Los Angeles came in Friday for the deer hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Cleon Sproul of j Santa Monica, Calif., spent Sunday Sun-day visiting with their mother, ' Mrs. Aggie Sproul and sister, Ra-mona. Ra-mona. They left Monday to visit relatives in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. William Pearce of Boulder City, and son, Max, who is stationed at Las Vegas, called on Mrs. Lydia Stephens last Saturday. Sat-urday. The men went deer hunting hunt-ing while Mrs. Pearce visited with her sister, Mrs. Stephens. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer T. Sand-berg Sand-berg and son Floyd attended the funeral services at Enterprise last Friday for Mrs. Sandberg's father, Alfred Barlocker. Mr. and Mrs. William Gould of Las Vegas spent several days here last week. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Neilson and family of Las Vegas, are here visiting vis-iting at the home of Mr. Neilson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Neilson. They are also taking in the deer hunt. Harold Hafen was the speaker in our Sacrament services on Sunday. Mrs. Darrel Nisson accompanied her- husband as far as Cedar City last week, where she visited at the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. William Snow. Mr. Nisson went on to Gunnison to attend to business. Mrs. Aggie Sproul entertained the Pinochle club Saturday night. Mrs. Bert Dewey is visiting with relatives in PangUitch. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Averett and son, Keith and daughter, Norma left Thursday for Camp Roberts, Calif., to visit their son and brother, Alpine. They were accompanied by Mrs. John Tanner Tan-ner and Weda Williams. Mrs. Tanner will visit her d.-iughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Al-bert Stratton and son. Claire. Marilyn Thomas of St. George spent Saturday and Sunday at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sandberg. Byron Reber, who was injured in an automobile accident last week was able to be removed from the hospital to his home on Friday. |
