Show Funeral Service Held In Santa Clara Sunday For Mrs. Otilla Tobler SANTA CLARA, Utah Funeral services were conducted in the Santa Clara ward chapel Sunday, Jan. 28, at 3 p. m. for Mrs. Otilla Ence Tobler, 66, who died at her home at 7 p. m. Friday, Jan. 26, of heart attack. Bp. E. R. Frei : Jr. conducted the services. Music numbers were "O, My 1 Father" by the St. George Temple" mixed quartette; trio, "My Peace : I Leave With You," Mrs. Rex , Nelson, Mrs. Murray Webb and Mrs. Gerald Blake, accompanied by Mrs. Bud Seegmiller; violin : solo, Mrs. Ellis Everett and vocal 1 solo, " That Wonderful Mother Of Mine" by Mrs. Pratt Miles. Speakers were Harmon Hafen of Santa Clara; Harold Reber of Littlefield; Pres. Harold S. Snow and Wm. T. Hopkins of St. George and Wm. E. Tobler of Washington. Washing-ton. All paid tribute to the excellent ex-cellent and praiseworthy life of I Mrs. Tobler, stressing her un- usual merit as a kind stepmother, a devoted wife and an energetic 1 church worker. Remarks were 1 also made by Bishop Frei and 1 original tributes in verse were ! given by Mrs. Emil Gubler of ) Santa Clara and Mrs. Lucy Robinson Robin-son of St. George. Otella Ence Tobler was born in Santa Clara on Oct. 28, 1878, a daughter of John and Caroline Knecht Ence. She had meager schooling but was known from girlhood for her thrift and her untiring efforts in her home and community. In January, 1912, she married George E. Tobler in the St George Temple. She has been active in church organizations serving as Sunday school secretary sec-retary for many yars and as president in the ward Relief Society, M. I. A. and Primary. She has also been active in Temple work and had attended two sessions at the Temple the day of her death. Surviving besides her husband are one daughter, Mrs. J. Louis Coulam of Salt Lake City;; three sons, Earl Tobler, Santa Clara; Lt. Evan Guy Tobler in England; Lt. Gilbert Tobler, with the medical med-ical staff at Bushnell; two stepsons, step-sons, Ezra Tobler and Heber Tobler Tob-ler of Salt Lake City, and three step-daughters, Mrs. Viola Gubler Gub-ler and Mrs. Glenna Hafen of j Santa Clara and Mrs. Lottie I Bladen, Cedar City. She also reared a nephew, Rex Bauer I whose mother died when he was J three days old. She has three sisters, Mrs. Amelia Reber of I Littlefield., Ariz.; Mrs. Mary I Reber of Mesquite and Mrs. Ern- ' ' est Tobler of Santa Clara, and . four pranrlriilrli-or. I |
