Show Services Held Here In Tabernacle Tuesday For Charles Walter Dodge Funeral services were held in the St. George stake Tabernacle at 5 p. m., Tuesday, July 22, for Charles Walter Dodge, 85, who died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Pymm shortly after 8 a. m., Sunday, July 20 of ailments incident inci-dent to age. Bishop Wilford Schmutz of the St. George East ward conducted the services with Winnie Seeg-miller Seeg-miller at the organ. Music numbers on the program included a mixed quartet, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives"; vocal solos, "Lay My Head Beneath the Rose", Leland Lamoreaux; and "In the Garden of Tomorrow", by Mrs. E. Penn Smith, and duet, "In the Time of Roses", by Mamie Paxman and Viola Gentry. Speakers were George W. Wor-then, Wor-then, Wallace B. Mathis and Albert Al-bert E. Miller. Mr. Worthen told of the colorful life of the deceased de-ceased as a young, man and of the many whom he had befriended. befriend-ed. Mr. Mathis recounted his association as-sociation with Mr. Dodge when he was cook for the cattlemen on the Arizona Strip over a long period; and Mr. Miller paid tribute trib-ute to both the deceased and his father as local and expert agriculturists agri-culturists and florists, and to the worth of the family in the community. com-munity. All told of his honesty, integrity and his constant effort to make others happy. Bishop Schmutz made brief closing remarks. Prayers were by George F. Whitehead and George E. Miles and the grave in the City cemetery ceme-tery was dedicated by George H. Lytle. There were many floral tributes from friends and relatives. Mrs. John D. Pymm is Mr. Dodge's only survivor. |
