Show William Warner Mitchell Dies At Parowan Tuesday PAROWAN, Utah William Warner War-ner Mitchell, Parowan postmaster and editor and publisher of the Parowan Times, died in the Iron county hospital Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. from injuries sustained four hours earlier when he either fell or was thrown from a horse near his home here. He was 49 years old. Mr. Mitchell left for a ride at 6 a.m. on a 2-year-old that had only recently been broken. He was found lying in the street near his home a short time later by a neighbor. He died from a skull fracture without regaining con-ciousness. con-ciousness. He was well known in this section for his ability as an editor and publisher and was elected vice-president of the Utah State Press association in 1935 and would automatically have become president in 1936, but he refused the nomination since he had just taken over the postmastership. He was active in politics and civic and church affairs and was recognized as one of the leaders in Iron county. Funeral services will be held Friday in the Parowan East L.D.S. chapel. Interment will be in the Parowan cemetery. |
