Show ARTHUR MILES, JR, DIES FOLLOWING LONG ILLNESS Arthur Frederick Miles, son of Arthur Ar-thur F. Miles, cashier of the Bank of St. George, passed from this life at 5:30 last Monday morning following fol-lowing an illness of long duration. The family came to St. George on October 6 to spend the winter in the hopes that he might regain his health. This was the tenth Christmas that he had been ill. He underwent many operations and received treatment from the best doctors in the country, coun-try, but he could not be cured. During his long illness he was cheerful and showed appreciation for all that was done for him. His wife was with him constantly doing everything ev-erything possible to relieve his. suffering. suf-fering. He was born in Washington, Utah, May 2, 1889, a son of Arthur F. and Ida Walker Miles. He attended district dis-trict and high school in St. George, later going to Idaho where he spent the past twenty years. He was an employee of the Oregon Short Line railroad for five years. He was married in Paris, Idaho, November 23, 1910, to Zina Miles of that place who survives, together with three sons, K. Frederick, 16; Richard Rich-ard S., 14, and Lowell W., 7; his father, step-mother, and the follow-lowing follow-lowing brothers and sisters: Raymond W. of Provo, Richard W. of Mont-pelier, Mont-pelier, Idaho, Wyatt W. of Panguitch; Mrs. Karl Larson of Hurricane and Miss Florence Miles of St. George. Funeral services were held in the stake tabernacle Wednesday afternoon, after-noon, Bishop F. G. Miles of the South ward presiding. A vocal duet was rendered by Mrs. Louie Miller and Miss Vella Ruth Morris. Violin solo, Clark Higgins. Vocal solo, Wendell Robinson. Prayers were offered by David H. Morris and Wallace B. Mathis. The speakers were George F. Whitehead, White-head, R. A. Morris and John Cot-tarn. Cot-tarn. All told of their association with the family and the deceased and paid high tribute to his life and to his widow who has been very devoted during his long illness. |
