Show The news telegraphed all over the country by the Associated Press is often of a character too trivial to be worthy of mention in a single local newspaper, to say nothing of being telegraphed to hundreds. Thus on Oct. 3d were telegraphed full particulars of a piscatorial excursion made by President Arthur, at Alexandria Bay, N. Y., and the startling information is given that, in one day, he caught six fish, and on the next ten! It is a pity that events of greater importance than this cannot be heard of by the newsgatherers, to furnish to the papers who pay for the news. |
