Show Olpin To Speak On Asian Studies Asian studies ' scholars from throughout the Intermountain area will gather at the Union Bldg. Friday Fri-day and Saturday, Nov. 15-16 for a Rocky Mountain regional conference confer-ence of the National Association for Asian Studies. Principal speakers for the two-day two-day meet include William W. Lockwood of Princeton University, Univer-sity, president of the national association; as-sociation; and University President Presi-dent A. Ray Olpin. The conference wil lopen Friday at 2 p.m. with a symposium on "Communist China and the World Scene." Mr. Lockwood will address ad-dress conference delegates at a dinner din-ner meeting Friday evening on "Foreign Aid and Political Objectives Objec-tives in Asia." Section meetings on "The Fine Arts in Southeastern Asia," "Teaching Oriental Languages in American Schools," and "The Political Po-litical and Social Transformation of Modern Japan,' 'are scheduled to begin Saturday at 10 a.m. All sessions of the conference will be held in Rooms 203 ABC of the Union and faculty members and interested students are invited to attend. President Olpin will address a concluding luncheon in the Auer-bach Auer-bach Room Saturday on "The Miraculous Recovery of a Defeated De-feated Nation."
