Show LiteroryClub Celebrated 78th Birthday Friday President Jen Pope gave the greeting and a short history of club accomplishments. Past-presidents Past-presidents of the club who are still members are Jen Pope, Ann Pool, Palma Jacobs, Madge Warde, Ha Corbin, Pearl Taylor, Leona Christen-son, Christen-son, Carol Hines and Juanita The Woman's Literary Club of Moab met Friday night at 6 p.m. in the Howard Balsley Hall of the Community Baptist Church to celebrate their 78th birthday. The Club treated their husbands and other guests to a sumptuous banquet and program. pro-gram. Past-presidents were the hostesses with Palma Jacobs serving as chairman. The hall was decorated in the club colors of green and yellow with early spring flowers. Mabery. Pledge was led by Mrs. Warde and the prayer by Harold Jacobs. The program was ventriloquism by Mrs. Max (Betty) Molgard and Christopher. The Senior Girl Scout Troop 190 led by Shirley Shelton entertained with some bicentennial skits about George Washington and Paul Revere. The skits were humorous and included a comic dance review. Mrs. Shelton spoke briefly on their Mexico trip of 1975. The girls were Penny Martin, Lori McCurdy, Mary Winfield, Judy Lawton, and Beverly Shelton, with assistant leader Judy Marshall. The evening ended with group singing led by Esther Balla with Mrs. Molgard on the piano. |
