Newlyweds Honored At Lovely Reception A highlight of June nuptial functions, was the wedding reception given Friday evening, in the Second ward church, for Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth R. Metcalf, (B everly Robhins) , who were married Wednesday in the Salt Lake temple. The bride's wedding gown was of white slipper satin, entrain with yoke of sheer net, and high neckline. neck-line. Her finger-tip veil was held by a tiara of orange blossoms. She carried the traditional white lilies with a shower of pink and white satin ribbon. A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Ly-man L. Robbins, the bride was attended at-tended by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Kathlyn Mendenhall, as matron of honor, and her sister, Miss Darla Robbins, was maid of hpnor. They wore aqua-blue formals with shoulder-length veils of net held by ribbons rib-bons and flowers.. The three bridesmaids, Misses Mary Metcalf, Gloria Palfreyman and Phyllis Hunter, wore pink net formals "with matching headpieces of original design. Each attendant carried a nosegay bordered with white maline. Kay Mendenhall attended the groom as best man. Also in the receiving line were the parents of the bride and bridegroom. bride-groom. Mrs. Robbins wore a smart gold-colored gown with corsage of gardenias and white carnations and Mrs. Metcalf was attired in a lovely, rose-colored formal with corsage of white carnations and gardenias. Little Sammy Metcalf and Sherry Sher-ry Laney carried rose petals and led the bridal party into the amusement hall where they continued con-tinued in a dance, and Elaine Jones sang, "I Love You Truly." Hilton Robertson of Provo, was master of ceremonies and announced an-nounced the program as follows: vocal solos, Miss Valetta Fullmer; vocal solos, Don Gottfredson, readings, read-ings, Mrs. Gertrude Clement; readings, Miss Afton Ash. Bishop J. Y. Bearnson gave a toast to the bride and Arthur Condie to the bridegroom. Matt Robertson gave a saxaphone solo. Acting as host and hostesses were Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Gottfredson Gott-fredson and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Robertson. Rob-ertson. Mrs. Wllford Gottfredson was in charge of the gift room, assisted by Miss Evelyn Gottfredson, Miss Melba Gottfredson, Miss Delia Mae Holmes, Miss Joyce Taylor, Miss Jeanine Pubbins and Roberta Bate. Refrehments were served from a beautifully decorated table covered cov-ered with a lace cloth and centered cen-tered with a three-tiered wedding cake decorated with wedding bells . and a miniature bride and groom encircled with a wreath of sweet-peas. sweet-peas. Mrs. Marellda Gottfredson of Salt Lake City was in charge of refreshments re-freshments and serving were Miss Vera Reynolds, Mrs. LaRue Hopkins, Hop-kins, Mrs. Shirley Child, Miss Beverly Bev-erly Hancock, Mrs. Ned Larsen and Miss Marilyn Crandall. The couple will reside in Springville Spring-ville for the present. |
