BLACKETT On the occasion of their Golden Wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Blackett of this city, will he honored on bunday, June 22, with an open-house reception at their residence, resi-dence, 285 East, First South street. The reception is planned for the hours of 3 p. m., to 8 p. m., and an invitation is extended to relatives, neighhors and friends of the couple to call at this time. Both Mr. and Mrs. Blachelt were Lorn in Springville and have made their home here practically their entire lives. Mrs. Blackett, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Tame, celebrated her 70th birthday on May 20. Mr. Blackett, who was 71 years old March 30, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Blackett. Mrs. Blackett has been a Relief Society teacher and worked for some time in the Primary. She has also done considerable genealogy work, and is a member of the Springville Spring-ville Camp of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Also active in church work, Mr. Blackett is a High Priest and is secretary of the High Priests Quorum m the Fifth ward. He is at present engaged in managing the church welfare garden. The couple were married in the Salt Lake temple in June, 1897. Their sons and daughters are, Mrs. Alta Holt of Spanish Span-ish Fork; Lawrence Blackett and Mrs. Elizabeth Chambless of Garfield; Cornell Blackett and Mrs. Mildred Moore, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Vera Lerwell, Eureka. There are also nineteen nine-teen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. |
