Show Mapleton Reception for Newlyweds Now Making Their Home in Ely, Nev. A lovely social event of the past week, taking place at Mapleton, was the reception given in honor of newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Gottfredson, on Friday evening- in the Mapleton i amusement hall. They were married mar-ried June 3 in the Manti temple. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Newman of Mapleton, was lovely in a wedding gown of white slipper satin entrain. It was designed with lace yoke encircled with ruffle and tight-fitting bodice. bo-dice. Her finger-tip veil fell from a crown of seed-pearls and she carried car-ried an orchid bouquet from which fell streamers of Vanda orchids. Mrs. June T. Newman, Janice Walker, of Ely, Nev., and Glenda Orton were attendants to the bride and they were attired in pastel formals and held nosegays in corresponding cor-responding shades. Harold Gottfredson, a twin brother of the groom, was best man and little Judy Gordon and Jane Newman were flower girls. Parents of the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Newman and Mr. and Mrs. Gottfredson, assisted in the reception re-ception of the guests. An entertaining program, with Paul Walker as master of ceremonies, cere-monies, was featured during the evening,, as follows: instrumental selections, Jerry Long; readings, Mrs. Fay Dibble; readings, Mrs. Ruel Jensen. The remainder of the evening was spent dancing. In charge of the gift room were Mrs. Hazel Gordon, Mrs. Betty Newman and Mrs. Margaret Woods. Refreshments were in charge of Mrs. Beth Orton of Spanish Fork, Mrs. Ruth Newman, Mrs. Marie Stone, Mrs. John Holley and Mrs. Esther Hurst, with serving done by Shirley Orton, Carol Woods and Gay Whiting. The guest book was in charge of Mrs. Carolee C. Newman. Shortly after the reception the couple left to make their home in Ely for the summer. |
