Show Couple Is Wed At San iego A social event of interest to friends here is the marriage of Cleo Hales, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Fielding Hales of Salt Lake City, formerly of Springville, Spring-ville, to Lt. Lawson "Jack" S. C. Davies, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Davies of Spanish Fork. The marriage took place at 6:30 p. m. on Monday. December 20, at the Marine Chapel in San Diego, Calif., with a double ring ceremony cere-mony performed by J. W. Bowd, chaplain of the Eleventh U. S. Naval District. The couple's only attendants were Lt. and Mrs. Gerald Rotstein of Chicago, 111. The bride chose for her we3-ding we3-ding attire, a white wool afternoon after-noon dress and white hat trammed with feathers, and an orchid corsage. cor-sage. The chapel was beautifully decorated for t"-,e wedding with poinspttias and other flowers. Adding a note of interest to the arrangement was a musical number num-ber arranged by the Marine organist, or-ganist, John W. Johnson, with melody from the "Girl From Utah." The newly wedded couple and attendants motored to LaJolla for a wedding supper following the ceremony, and the couple also spent a few days' honeymoon in that city, later going to San Diego, Die-go, where Lt. Davies is rtationed -temporarily. The bride is a graduate of the local high school and attendedthe Brigham Young, university, taking tak-ing active part in dramatic and dancing activities. She has been employed during the past two years with the British Ministry of War Transport at San Francisco, Calif. Lt. Davies is a graduate of the Spanish Fork high school and the Brigham Young university. He was affiliated with, the Theda Alpha Al-pha Phi dramatic fraternity, the Omega Mil, journalistic fraternity and with the Viking social unit. Before going into the service, he was connected with radio stations sta-tions KOVO and KSL. He is at present a first lieutenant in the anti-aircraft artillery and intelligence intelli-gence officer of an automatic weapon battallian. The bride is a granddaughter of Andrew Pierce of this city. |
