Mrs. Long wore a formal black crepe and white blouse and Mrs. Johnson, rose taffeta. In charge of the serving were Mrs. W. M. Bowes and Mrs. Jack Sessions of Salt Lake, and Mrs. James R. Long, assisted by Nola Johnson of Spanish Fork, Merlene Migliore of Helper, and LaDean Bulkley. Shirley" Banks of Los Angeles An-geles and Colleen Hansen, poured. The dining table was covered with a hand-made imported lace cloth and was centered with a beautiful three-tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom. I Mrs. A. G. Peterson was in charge of the gift room, assisted by Mrs. Frank Peterson of Bingham. Mrs. J. Arthur Mathews of Ogden Og-den and Mrs. Gladys Nielson were acting hostesses. The guests were invited to view the bride's trousseau during the evening, which was in charge of Elaine Cutler. The gifts were received re-ceived by Shirley Bagley and Betty Bet-ty Magleby of Salt Lake City, and Louise Long was in charge of the gift room. About 300 guests called during the evening. Highlighting social events of the past week was the marriage and wedding reception Saturday eve ning for Dorothy Faye Long, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Long of this city, and Leonard Dean Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard O. Johnson of Spanish Span-ish Fork. The marriage was performed by Bishop A. G. Peterson of the First ward, at 8:30 p. m., at Valley Tavern, Tav-ern, and witnessed by a group of close friends and near relatives. The couple stood before an improvised impro-vised altar draped with white satin and banked with flowers in season. The bride was charming in a lovely wedding dress of white satin sa-tin en train designed princess style with sweetheart neckline and trimmed trim-med with tiny white buttons. Her silk tulle veil was fastened to her head with' a coronet of seed pearls, and her corsage was of rosebuds and lilies. The bridal party entered to the strains of Lohengren's wedding march played by Margaret String-ham. String-ham. The bride was given in marriage mar-riage by her father. Helen Bowes of Salt Lake City, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Betty Bet-ty Banks of Los Angeles, Calif., cousin of the groom, Lorraine Peterson Pe-terson of Copperton, cousin of the bride, Gladys Weight and Eulalia Shoemaker. They were each attired attir-ed in pastel colored formals, with corsages in corresponding colors. Sally Goodrich, cousin of the groom, and Charmain Long, sister of the bride, were flower girls, and wore starched organdy in blue and yellow. Reed Evans of Spanish Span-ish Fork was best man and Rulon Johnson and Dale Long were ushers. Also in the receiving line were MRS. OLIVE MILLER WAS CLUB HOSTESS to members of the Fidelity group at her home Tuesday evening. Bridge and a delicious lunch were enjoyed. Prizes in the form of defense de-fense stamps were awarded to Mrs. Rose Roylance, Mrs. Ann Johnson, and Mrs. Mary Clegg. Other club members present were Mrs. Floss Cates, Mrs. Faye Cranmer, Mrs. Margie Davis, Mrs. Florence Boyer, and Mrs. Mary Johnson. |
