RUSSELL, JOHNSON conducted Saturday at 1 p. m., at the Springville Second ward chapel, chap-el, by Bishop Oliver Dalton. A native of Springville, Pvt. Johnson was born July 18, 1926. He attended school in Springville. Provo, and Ogden, and graduated from Ogden high school. He later attended Denver University on a scholarship in dramatic art.- Entering the service Sept. 13, 1944, he received basic training at Camp Roberts, Calif., and went to the Pacific area Feb. 15, 1945. He lost his life in his first battle. He had been a member of the LDS Mount Ogden ward, and was active in the elders' quorum, serving serv-ing as a chorister. Surviving are his father, Clair W. Johnson; his stepmother, a sister sis-ter and two brothers, Alene, Alan and Lou Johnson, all of Ogden; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Johnson, Springville.' His mother was the late Alice Packard Johnson of Springville. She died August 15, 1937. The body will arirve Thursday under military escort and remain at the Claudin funeral home in Springville, until the services, and burial in the Springville city cemetery. |
