Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY MAY 16, 2001 Opinion matters on my own, because we interrupted a town meeting. He Letters Continued from Page 4 Insensitivity Dear Editor: I am so disgusted with something that happened to me a - 1 ' couple of weeks ago. said to me, "Do you know who was in that meeting?" I replied, "Who"? He said the mayor's name and so on. To be honest with you, I wanted to find out who it was that had the nerve to hit my dog and run, not who was in a meeting or how important they were. I am a citizen of this town and I feel I am just as important as anyone else. That lady was in the wrong for what she had done to my family. I feel that they should have handled matters differently. If it was anyone else in this situation instead of me, I believe something would have been done about it. Unfortunately my dog was struck by a van in front of my house (the dog is fine now, thank. God). But the lady who was driv- -' ing was not only going over the speed limit, but kept on going after running the dog over. I didn't see it happen, but fortunately some kids who were visiting me at the time were videotaping themselves out in my front yard, Barbara Shine ' and caught it all on tape! Kanab, Utah I immediately went looking for this lady who did this. I found her van parked at the City Library, Thanks for caring but she was not in it. I was upset as it was, so I sent one ofthe girls Dear Editor: who saw it happen inside to ask The family of Dora Gunderson who the driver ofthe van that hit Smith would like to thank all the my dog was. Weaver, O.D., found that Missouri State Highway Patrolmen experienced significant improvement in vision function in both general tasks and tasks unique to highway patrol troopers when wearing the lenses. "Wearing lenses did help the highway patrol troopers in certain situations," Dr. Bachman said. "I would highly recommend lenses for wearing night drivers, pilots and anyone else in visually demanding situations." In general, the subjects reported improvements such as better overall day and night vision, a reduction of glare ad reflections during the day and night, and a reduction ofindoor reflections and glare.
