ON E of the most delightfully arranged ar-ranged affairs of the week was the hop given Friday evening at Fort Douglas by the officers and ladies of the post. About 200 invitations were j issued to people in town. The post hall, j where the hop was given, was effectively i decorated in American flags and bunt-; ing in the patriotic colors. Punch j ' tables were placed at either end of tho hall from which punch was served during dur-ing tho evening. The music was fur-; fur-; nished by the military band. Several gay little dinner parties were given preceding pre-ceding the dance. Captain and Mrs. William S. Mapes entertained a number ' of friends at dinner at their quarters.
